Custom Assembler / Fabricator

REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Candidate will possess the following:

  • 3+ years of experience in doing assembly and fabrication work
  • Experience reading and understanding mechanical drawings
  • Experience working with stainless steel, steel, and aluminum sheet metal in order to manufacture custom electrical enclosures
  • Experience operating a shear and a brake to cut and bend sheet metal
  • Proficient in TIG/MIG welding
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and climb stairs & ladders
  • Adequate written & verbal communication skills (English required)
  • Detail-oriented and organized mentality

Electrical Engineer

Champion Controls is seeking an electrical engineer for its Fort Lauderdale office. The Electrical Engineer will work as part of our team that designs industrial control systems. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in the process controls industry designing and implementing PLC, RTU, and SCADA solutions. Candidate should also have expertise in low and medium voltage, single-phase and three-phase AC motors and motor control technologies

Key responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include:
Electrical

  • Design electrical control systems including enclosure layouts and developing wiring diagrams.
  • Apply UL standards for industrial control panel design
  • Develop engineering documentation for all electrical systems, including Bills of Materials, electrical component specifications, drawings, work instructions, and other design documents to support manufacturing of electrical control systems.

Instrumentation

  • Contribute to the design effort for supply of low voltage process measurement instrumentation
  • Develop instrument data sheets & mounting details design

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and five (5) plus years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Application of PLC and HMI’s technologies
    • Ladder and function block programming
    • AutoCAD Electrical software
    • Microsoft Office suite of products
    • HMI and SCADA software applications such as: RSView, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, Intellution, WinCC, ClearSCADA, and VTScada preferred
    • Allen Bradley PLC’s (Micrologix, ControlLogix, CompactLogix) preferred
    • Schneider’s SCADAPack software and Modicon PLC’s preferred
    • Other products and technologies such as: MODBUS RTU, DNP3, and Serial communications; Visual Studio programming; and SQL Server administration & programming preferred

Estimator

Champion Controls, a fast growing system integration and custom control systems company is seeking to add another Estimator to our business development group. Successful candidate will work out of our Fort Lauderdale, FL office and will be responsible for preparing quotes and bid proposals based on the customer’s electrical, instrumentation and control design documents. Typical design documents include: electrical schematics & one line diagrams; electrical panel and control panel layouts; P&ID’s; as well as other plans and specifications. The Estimator will also represent our company at customer pre-bid meetings and perform site walk downs.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Candidate will possess the following:

  • 5+ years of experience estimating electrical & control projects
  • Experience requesting & reviewing material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers
  • Experience reviewing bid documents and specifications, completing accurate take-offs, and generating winning proposals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of any leading brand of estimating software (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English required)
  • Detail-oriented and organized mentality
  • Excels at generating accurate estimates in a fast paced environment

Field Service Technician

Champion Controls, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to serve as one of the primary respondents for customer service calls and to support our company’s control system startup efforts. Main responsibilities will include the setup and troubleshooting of PLC’s, RTU’s, & SCADA systems as well as process instrumentation for measuring: temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, level, density, viscosity, pH, conductivity, etc. You will work with the customer’s operation teams as required and take the lead in scheduling and performing the Champion Controls related field activities. Knowledge of the water/waste water industry is extremely beneficial. This position is full time with flexibility for emergency calls. This position also requires traveling to various out of town job sites.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Candidate will possess the following:

  • 3+ years of experience in field service or related technician/engineering work
  • Experience reviewing specifications and electrical and control design drawings
  • Competency in configuring & programming leading brand of PLC hardware & software. Allen-Bradley experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and climb stairs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English required)
  • Detail-oriented and organized mentality
